Rocking Chair Seminar

Due to the many requests I have had from individuals who want to come and learn about making rocking chairs but do not necessarily want to make a chair at this time, I have instituted a week long working seminar.

In this seminar you will come and work with me for one week, Monday thru Friday. I work six hours a day, 9am to 3pm.

During this week you will get to observe the building of what ever rocking chair I am working on at the time. I will put you to work doing some sanding and other tasks, your participation will be somewhat limited because I am being paid $8000.00 to $12,500.00 to make a chair for someone and they fully expect and deserve my attention and dedication to making it. However, I will show you all the steps and processes and I will have some practice pieces for you to experiment with.

When I make chairs I spend as much time on the chair as it needs, then I commence the next one. I do not have a schedule. Therefore when you come I may be in the middle of a chair, I will however, fully explain the entire process of chair building from the beginning.

The cost for this week long seminar is $1000.00.

You will go home with a weeks worth of rocking chair building experience, my book for building the chair, a back brace hole template (BBHT) and a set of 'one up' templates for my large medium and small rocking chairs. I charge $275.00 (+$35.00 for the BBHT) for the book and templates separately.
