Rocking Chairs

I have been making rocking chairs now for about 15 years and have made almost 300 beautiful rockers. I have taught hundreds of folks to make my rocking chairs through my Rocking Chair U program, some of which you can find links to on my links page. I make what I believe are the most comfortable and beautiful rocking chairs in the world. I make them to fit each individual because just like shoes, not every body fits the same size. I select the most beautiful hard woods I can find and take great care in matching the grain in every rocking chair I make.  My rocking chairs have found homes over much of the world including Hong Kong, Singapore, the Virgin Islands, Israel, England, France and throughout the United States and Canada.

On the underside of each seat just before the rocking chair leaves my shop I engrave: The date, chair number, the name of the chair, "This chair has been made especially for _____ by Hal Taylor" and I put a poem or quote that you can pick or I can pick if you prefer. Why do I do all this? I do it so that when the third or fourth generation owns the chair it will be a part of the love and history of the family and a way to remember those who came before who desired to surround themselves and their family with beauty.
